Just to name a few of the hats that Mr. Fugazzie wears in this ever evolving time of reinventing oneself to create, market and foster a career, one clear distinction that sets Mr. Fugazzie apart is his ability to connect the dots from every direction. As a straight forward, progressive and dynamic thinker, he has the keen ability to uncover opportunities, make strong network connections and implore others to do the same for themselves while maintaining a strong sense of paying it forward.
Mr. Fugazzie founded Neighbors Helping Neighbors – USA (NhN_USA), a grassroots, volunteer driven, zero funded, community based career transition job search support and networking group on January 27, 2011 at his local library. The organization has expanded to 26 weekly library-based meetings in 8 NJ counties and in Boston Public Library in 2013. Group is now working on establishing new NhN_USA chapters on college campuses and in select Microsoft stores across the country. The current membership, 1200+, continues to grow with 259 “Dear John – I landed…” success stories.
Mr. Fugazzie has been instrumental in getting national media coverage including a USA Today cover story (2013), has been seen on , and shortly on CNN HLN network show "Making it in America" and extensive local media coverage. In addition, a recent interview with Brenda Blackmon on MY9TV Fox and on Shelly Sonstein's, "Sonestein Sunday" on Q 104.3.
Recently, Mr. Fugazzie was recognized for his volunteer work by the Governor and the Lt. Governor of NJ, Nominated for NJ Heroes by Bergen County Freeholders and recognized by the NJ Department of Labor as an Ambassador for the jobs4jersey program as well as national recognition by the The White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships division of the US Department of Labor. Contributor to a brainstorming White House Group dealing with long-term unemployed.
While involved with NhN_USA, Mr. Fugazzie founded Retail Partners LLC, an entrepreneurial professional consultancy that is focused on building business relationships with marketers of consumer products and retailers in the US.
For the past decade and prior to his networkpreneur role, Mr. Fugazzie was the director of Dairy Frozen at The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, managing $ 1.2 billion in retail sales, and managing a staff of 8; General Manager for Anco Fine Cheese, leading the Northeast Division of Schratter Foods with sales of $ 50 million and a staff of 65; Account Executive, C & S Wholesale Grocers working as liaison for the transition of the Grocery Division of A & P; Executive Director, Eastern Perishable Products Association, managing a not-for-profit regional perishable food trade organization; Director Retail Marketing, Ziff-Davis, Inc. managing sale and retailer relationships for consumer magazines sales of $ 200 million.
Mr. Fugazzie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Montclair State University and an MBA-Marketing from Rutgers University – Graduate School of Business Administration.
